In-house Management Accountant (Up to £58,000)

This role is to work as an in- house Management Accountant for an established accountancy practice that has been hugely successful, acquisitive and progressive in recent years. The Firm services a portfolio of clients ranging from subsidiaries of listed groups, VC and PE backed entities and large family owned businesses. Assistance is provided with audit, tax, advisory and specialist consulting work as well as bookkeeping, management reporting, VAT compliance and payroll.

 

Key responsibilities

In collaboration with the Finance Controller, the management accountant will deliver insightful, timely and accurate financial information.  They will also develop accounting processes and controls appropriate to meet the demands of a rapidly growing professional services organisation.

 

Responsibilities:

Financial reporting, planning and control

  • Management and development of systems and processes;
  • Accounting for the various entities in the group;
  • Timely production of a range of weekly and monthly financial reports;
  • Preparation of annual financial statements;
  • Support Head of Finance in the budgeting and forecasting process.

Development of accounting processes and the accounts team

  • Challenge existing processes, propose and implement change;
  • Leverage IT to improve the efficiency of reporting processes;
  • Fully utilise our new MIS to further improve timeliness and quality of management reporting;
  • Support improved business performance through development and monitoring of key performance indicators;
  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships, particularly with HR, Payroll & IT;
  • Help develop the Accounts Senior and Accounts Assistant (both ACCA part qualified).

  • Technically excellent qualified accountant;

  • Good relationship builder – credible with partners and directors;
  • Strong interpersonal skills – challenging, diplomatic, able to influence others.

 

Requirements:

  • Several years’ experience within an Accountancy Firm;
  • Capability to work independently at senior manager/director level and demonstrate leadership ability and management experience;
  • Experience of delivering services to internationally expanding groups;
  • Ability to prioritise workloads with multiple deadlines;
  • Skills to supervise and develop staff;
  • Good client relationship and communication skills;
  • Commercially aware.
